ANJA DAHLIN'S MYSTERY QUILT

This is Anja Dahlin, with her beautiful version of our Mystery #2. Isn't it lovely? Those of you who worked on this mystery know that there was a lot of piecing in this quilt. Our next mystery will start soon. I promise there won't be as much piecing in this new one! Details will be coming soon. I am heading out of town to visit a special little man in Wisconsin, but I'll be back in a week and get working on separating the pattern I am using into steps for the mystery!

Chris Schroeder's "Spirit"

Chris Schroeder joined us on Tuesday morning for "Fireside Stitchers". She always brings wonderful show and tell. Here is her rendition of Toni Whitney's "Spirit". She bought our kit, but changed out the background and borders to match her colors at home. Isn't it GREAT??

MOOSE QUILT IN MEMORY OF GOVERNOR RYNEARSON

This is Sharon Duffy's "Summer Serenity" which she presented to The Loyal Order of the Moose Family Center 1913 in Mauston, Wisconsin. It was made in loving memory of Governor Dale Rynearson, who passed away from cancer in February. Pictured with Sharon is the new governor, Mike Rynearson, nephew of Dale. Sharon says she is not a quilter, but has done most crafts. How brave of her to tackle this as her first quilt! Se also added paint to this quilt, another first! Because it will hang in the family center, she chose to frame the quilt for protection. Didn't she do an amazing job??

SHOW AND TELL MONDAY!

Karen made the adorable "Birdie Sling" (pattern by Amy Butler) at a recent guild retreat. M-E (short for Midnight Express) barely cooperated with being stuffed in the bag!...can't say that I blame her.

Karen's mystery quilt.....

Detail of the prairie points.....Isn't this a sweet quilt? The pretty black floral and the light are Marti Michell's design.....the red is Moda.

Beckys baby quilt (I know I have this pattern buried somewhere in my sewing room....this makes me want to get going on it.....)

Becky's English Paper Piecing-we're all addicted to paper piecing at our shop....but I stick with the bigger pieces.....these are 1/2 inch hexagons!

PEGGY JEBAVY'S PUGCASSO

Look at this cute version of Pugcasso, by David King. This pattern was our first by David King, and was all by itself for a season, trying hard to get along with Toni Whitney's wildlife and Debi Hubbs' chickens and crows. Now we have four pups in the litter, but since he was our first, he'll always have a special spot in our hearts. Check him out, along with Sebastian the Jack Russell Terrier, Butch the Black Lab, and Sundance the Golden Retriever on our website... www.bigforkbaycottonco.com.

INCREDIBLE, PROLIFIC DIANE PHILLIPS

What a treat it was to open my email this morning! We always love to see our customers' finished quilts. So you can imagine what a thrill it was today to receive these images of Diane's wildlife quilts. We're so proud of these designs by Toni Whitney, and Diane should be especially proud of her interpretations! Thank you, Diane, for sharing these with us all!

4 F's

We have a wonderful group that meets to sew in our classroom on Mondays. They call themselves the "4 F's"....stands for Friends, Fabric, Food, and Fun, not necessarily in that order. They welcome anyone who is free on Mondays to come and sew with them. The classroom opens up about 10:00 and they usually start packing up to go home at about 4:00. Sometimes they order in lunch, some people bring their own, and sometimes we have a pot luck salad bar. I'd like to introduce you to Eleanor Carlson. She comes every week with her daughter "Coach". These are some of the quilts we have watched Eleanor create over the last few months.

ANNE'S VERSION OF THE QUILTERS

Those who look closely will see this version of The Quilters in the slideshow on the right. I wish the picture was bigger and you could see the details that Anne added to this quilt. She made this for her sister's 70th birthday. The crows represent her, her sisters, and nieces. She uses their hats and shoes to reflect their personalities. One crow has a cowgirl hat and boots, one is wearing a tiara, one has a feather hat and bright pink Mary Jane shoes, and one has a quilt block for a hat (could that be Anne?) She even included her sister's dog, tugging on a quilt!
